Science helps us see further, imagine new technologies and develop innovations that will revolutionize electric vehicles.
Our Center of Excellence in Transportation Electrification and Energy Storage brings together about 100 veteran researchers from around the world. This dedicated team is developing a new generation of batteries that are lighter, more durable, and above all, safer.
This major breakthrough, which will be ready to go to market within five years, places us at the leading edge of solid-electrolyte battery development worldwide and makes us a partner of choice for automakers.
The Center of Excellence in Energy Efficiency (C3E) is a non-profit organization that invests in the commercial success of innovations in the field of energy efficiency in transportation. Founded in 2009 by Hydro-Québec and Rio Tinto Alcan, the C3E aims to fund projects that will lead to the development of more energy-efficient vehicles thanks to, for instance, electric powertrains or lighter materials.
